Why is this group beneficial?
1. Enhanced Emotional Regulation
Nature offers a calming environment that reduces stress and anxiety, which helps children become more aware of their emotions and better able to regulate them.
Mindfulness practices and activities in outdoor settings can lower cortisol levels and promote relaxation, improving children's capacity to cope with frustration and challenges.
2. Development of Self-Awareness
Mindfulness encourages reflection and awareness in the present moment, helping children become more conscious of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, supporting the mind-body connection, which is essential for healthy child development.
Self-awareness fosters better decision-making, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.
3. Connection to Nature
Mindful experiences in nature can nurture a lifelong connection to the environment, fostering care, stewardship and respect for our planet.
