Why is this group beneficial?
1. Improved Social Communication Skills
Children must collaborate, take turns, negotiate roles, and problem-solve together.
Roles like "Engineer," "Builder," and "Supplier" encourage structured communication and cooperative play.
2. Development of Teamwork, Cooperation & Communication
Group tasks naturally foster interdependence—no one can complete the model alone.
Encourages peer support, shared responsibility, and a sense of belonging within the group.
3. Emotional Regulation and Patience
Children learn to wait their turn, manage frustration, and tolerate making mistakes.
This helps build resilience and the ability to regulate emotions in a socially safe context.
4. Development of Fine Motor and Cognitive Skills
Handling LEGO bricks improves fine motor control and spatial reasoning.
Following instructions or designing, builds promotes executive function (planning, attention, initiating and completing tasks, and flexibility).
5. Safe and Predictable Structure
The consistent format provides predictability and routine, which is especially helpful for neurodivergent children.
Creates a low-anxiety environment that encourages engagement and participation.
6. Peer Relationships and Social Inclusion
Encourages peer bonding through shared interests and cooperative play.
Helps reinforce social skills such as turn taking, clear communication, active listening, following social rules, negotiation and compromise, conflict resolution, encouragement and much more.
7. Therapeutic Value Without Being Individual “Therapy”
Because it’s fun and engaging, children are often more motivated to participate than in traditional therapy settings.
This informal setting allows learning to happen organically, through play.
This is a therapeutic group that can be billed to insurance. Self-pay options are also available. In order to use insurance as payment, an intake interview will occur prior to starting group. Please let me know your preference when you reach out to join.
